Terraforming Mars

Earth scientists thought about the idea of terraforming Mars, in case Earth decides to become obsolete.

NOVEMBER • 2000

catastrophic earthquake

An earthquake along the pacific tectonic plates created a catastrophic earthquake. It took the entire world and created a rift deep within the ocean. No one knew this rift had been created as massive creatures have erupted from it's depths.

JANUARY • 2001

attack on japan

A large creature attacked Tokyo, Japan -- leaving most of the city in shambles. They began calling these creatures 'Kaiju,' which meant giant beast in japanese. It took seven fighter pilots from the Japanese Air Force to kill these creatures. With the emergence of these large creatures, it means the world has to come together to defeat these things.

March • 2001

Realizing that these creatures were something that cannot be stopped easily, it attacked Sydney, Australia -- another city was devastated by a gigantic monster. The United Nations came together and created the High Table.

the A.C.E Program

The High Table creates the A.C.E Program to battle these Kaiju.

APRIL • 2002

the A.C.E Program
is functioning

The Program created Paladins to counter the Kaiju and to train new Pilots and Mechanics to handle these mechas.

LATE JUNE • 2002

first testing - paladins

The A.C.E Program is a success with it's first three approved and highly functional Paladins. They were far from perfect but they were needed ASAP.

AUGUST • 2002

battle in san francisco

A quarter of San Francisco was left uninhabitable due to the amount of money that was needed to rebuild the city. But the battle was a success, with the Kaiju being slain in the Pacific ocean. One of the Paladins breaks down due to the nuclear reactor malfunctioning.

January • 2003

battle in hong kong

With assistance from the Chinese Government, two of the Paladins were boosted and made better prior to the Hong Kong battle. Most of the city was left in tact, only a couple of thousand of people were injured.

March • 2003

final battle in capetown

The United Nations sanctioned a Nuclear warhead to be released on the Level 5 Kaiju that was attempting to level Capetown. With four Paladins in tow, the battle was tough as they closed the rift, permanently stopping more assaults on the world.

APRIL • 2003

people are afraid
they'll come back

Even though they were simply whispers underground, people were afraid that these Kaiju would rear their ugly heads.

MAY • 2004

Global warming
hitting earth harder

With global warming getting worse by the year, scientists are forced to think of alternatives.

JUNE • 2004

scientists are back on mars

A group of brave scientists are sent to Mars to collect samples and see if it is possible to terraform Mars. Large domes are created has habitats for humans.

DECEMBER • 2006

terraforming mars

The Terraforming Mars project is created. Groups of scientists are sent to Mars to begin their experiments.

MARCH • 2025

more people sent to mars

Two thousand people are sent to Mars to colonize, help with the experiments, building, and terraforming.

Kaiju make a comeback

The Kaiju attack the prime location where the Paladins are manufactured: Hong Kong.

With the Kaiju attacks being more prominent, humanity began losing faith as the High Table and the United Nations try to figure out how to battle these monsters.

JANUARY • 2042

Ten thousand people are sent to Mars to help colonize the planet.

LATE FEBRUARY • 2042

The High Table assists the UN to rebuild the world, fortifying several cities from future attacks. Creating technology based shields, weapons, and Paladin-like drones.

JULY • 2052

BACK TO NORMAL

Under the United Nations, the world has gone back to its normal rhythm with localized Kaiju attacks here and there. A.C.E is moved to Mars, signaling a new era. That humans don't need Paladins anymore.

AUGUST • 2054

THE HIGH TABLE
RELOCATES TO MARS

Believing they can do more good on Mars, they become the "head council" for the colony.

NOVEMBER • 2056

BORN MARTIANS ARE NO
LONGER EARTHLINGS

Humans that are born on Mars are no longer Earthlings. They also began developing "powers" that people have dubbed Esper or Espers.

JANUARY • 3001

MARS IS THEIR OWN NATION

Being away from Earth for so long, Martians unanimously voted to become their own nation. Earth recognized Mars as its own entity.

APRIL • 3001

terraforming is
nearly complete

Nearly a thousand years later, terraforming Mars is almost complete but most of the colony is still under large clear domes.

JUNE • 3040

ALIEN CHATTER

Chatter is heard on the radios. Martians are afraid that they're not alone in the world.

OCTOBER • 3045

FIRST ATTACK ON MARS COLONY

The first space Kaiju have made contact, destroying several domes. Luckily the Paladins were there to protect them...
