| The High Table is made up of high government officials from various countries and nations -- a United Nations of sorts, coming together to have a united front against these predators. |

| Technology has come very far. With many medical marvels, most human illnesses are eradicated with a series of injections when an infant is born. When limbs are lost, they are grown back with special medicine. If one doesn't have access to the special medication, they turn to cyberkinetics but cyberkinetics are not offered for pilots or for anyone involved in A.C.E. due to the possibility of failure or malfunction. Due to the nature of Mars, everyone has to wear specific gravity boots to keep themselves grounded. If not, they will be light and tend to bounce across the ground. Most of the domes have gravity built into their structures but certain parts that are still underway require gravity boots. |

| All civilians carry Hand Terminals. This device is used for person-to-person recorded video messages and live video calls. It also operates as a personal data manager, a remote control device, and an access control key among other purposes. It is a solid clear rectangular device which resembles the dimensions of a smartphone from the early 21st century but is made entirely of a glass silicate or a transparent hard glossy plastic/polycarbonate material. The display, user experience, and operating system includes touch, proximal motion, and gesture detection, as well as potentially holographic projection (this may be from nearby devices that communicate in real-time with the hand terminal). It can operate wirelessly on a cloud or on a private local communication network. Communication protocols and security protocols on the devices and the networks are unobtrusive. All hand terminals cater to different languages: Simplified Chinese, English, German, Greek, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Martian, and the list goes on. |

| the shatterdome |
| The Shatterdome is a large structure that is approximately eight miles away from the colony. It houses all of A.C.E, all personnel, machinery, and Paladins. The Shatterdome is off limits to all civilians that do not have a contract with the High Table, A.C.E, or are related to one of the employees. |

| The government consists of a small round table of three members. It is rumored that the High Table has their hands in their pockets but it cannot be confirmed or denied. Even so, the colony has been running very smoothly and many people are happy on Mars. The crime rate and poverty is at its lowest since the High Table has invited themselves to the table. |

| The colony that's located on Mars is a very large one. Since humans landed on Mars, it has expanded dramatically. Humans live under large domes that separate them from the outside air. In the colony, there is unlimited access to air and water. If someone were to exit a dome, they will be traveling via a monorail pod to another dome or by foot in a space suit. Currently there are five domes, not including the Shatterdome -- where A.C.E operates and houses their occupants. Each dome is about five miles from each other in a linear line. If someone were to travel from dome A to dome E, that would take about 24 hours. Each dome is equivalent to mini cities. Each dome is labeled A through E and has different names. |

| The education system on Mars rivals Earths. Everyone has access to an education up until high school graduation. Citizens can choose to attend Mars University, join ACE, or find a job. |
